How's it goin', neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com, and we're takin' a look at the Yakima SkinnyWarrior rooftop basket on our 2020 Ford Explorer. Adding a rooftop basket to the top of your Explorer is gonna allow you to increase your cargo capacity by takin' advantage of the negative space on top of your roof. What's special about the SkinnyWarrior is the fact that it is narrow, so that allows you to get a basket up here, but frees up the other half of your roof rack system to add in other things like kayak carriers, bike carriers, or maybe even a cargo box. Takin' a closer look at the SkinnyWarrior itself, the way that it works, it's gonna have a clamp system that wraps around your bars. Right now, I have the Thule WingBar Evo on here, but they'll work with just about any style bar. So if you have round, square, factory, whatever, this is gonna work for you. more

Hey everyone, it's Evangeline here at Etrailer, and today we have the Yakima SkinnyWarrior Roof Basket. We're gonna take a look at how it fits our 2018 Ford Escape. If you're looking for a way to expand your cargo space, maybe you have a big trip planned and not everything's gonna fit inside your Ford Escape, or maybe you want to carry around the gear for the other accessories you're carrying on your roof, that's where the Yakima SkinnyWarrior can come in handy. It's gonna be a skinny roof basket with dimensions of 58 inches long by 23 inches wide, so if you needed to carry other things, like a kayak, or a roof-mounted bike rack, you can do so while still having that extra cargo space. This is how much space you have left over for those other accessories. Now, I do have this on 60 inch long Yakima bars, and we have it on the overhang of those bars, but even if we had a roof rack without overhang, there'd still be room left over for those other accessories. more

How's it going everybody Today we are going to be taking a look at the Flint Hill Goods Cargo Basket and how it fits on our 2021 Ford F-150. Typically, this might sit on the roof, but in our case we have it on the bed rack system that we have installed on our F-150, just 'cause that's gonna make our items much easier to get to and we can still use our bed while getting this up on top and increasing the storage space overall of our vehicle. So let's take a closer look. Our basket is gonna be made out of durable black powder coated steel. The whole construction is going to be that material, so it's gonna hold up really well against rust and corrosion, and all of these points, including the top and bottom rails as well as the rails that go through are gonna be points where we can strap things down to, which I definitely recommend. Curt Roof Basket Review - 2021 Ford F-150- Video

How's it going everyone Today we are going to be taking a look at the Curt Cargo basket and how it fits on our 2021 Ford F-150. Typically, these are gonna be designed to fit up on your roof, but in our setup right now, we have this on our bed rack. Just gonna make things much easier to access without having to reach all the way up there. It's gonna work the same though, and we can take a closer look now at how it's gonna work. The basket's going to be made of black powder coated steel, so it's gonna be durable, rust and corrosion resistant. And that means that top and bottom rails, all these side rails, and the rails that run through to support our items are also gonna be able to be used as tie down points. more

Now, a basket's gonna be good to just get some extra stuff in your vehicle, whether the bed is full or maybe covered up, and we're gonna get some extra stuff up on top of the vehicle. Inside the Maverick, you don't have a whole lot of room, besides your room for passengers. So if you maybe have some camping gear or things you wanna put up here that isn't gonna fit in the bed or you just wanna keep the bed open for other stuff, this is a great place to do it. Hey, it's Ethan an etrailer. Today we're going to be taking a look at the Flint Hill Goods 46-by-36 inch Roof Cargo Basket on our 2021 Ford Bronco Sport. A roof basket like this could come in handy if you have some larger items that might not necessarily fit in the back of your vehicle or you just have some things on there that you might not wanna store in your vehicle that might be a little bit dirty or sandy, anything like that, this is just gonna be a great way to increase the storage capacity of your vehicle. This basket itself, is capable of supporting 165 pounds, and it has a depth of about 4 1/4 inches, so it'll support just about anything that you can fit in there. The nice feature that this carrier offers are the ability to put straps at pretty much any one of these points, including the top tubes as well as the bottom. And additionally, there is this built-in fairing at the front. more

Curt Roof Basket Review - 2020 Ford Edge- Video

Hey, everybody welcome to etrailer.com. I'm Bobby, and today we're taking a look at the Curt roof mounted cargo basket here on our 2020 Ford Edge. So if you guys are looking for a way of just getting a little bit of that cargo out of your vehicle and on top of your roof, this is definitely gonna be an excellent way to do it. What's nice about it We're not gonna be breaking the bank, but we're still getting a very nice secure way of going ahead and latching on our cargo, that way it's with us whenever we get to our destination. Now the Ford Edge here doesn't have the worst cargo management out there I think it has a pretty decent back end of course, but as soon as you load up four people in a vehicle, it quickly fills up, especially, you guys are finding yourself on a longer road trip or something like that, especially fitting all the snacks in, so this is an excellent way of getting that bulky cargo out of there, freeing up some space. Secondly, it's really good for anything like sports activities, if we do have those big old gym bags or sets of football gear, soccer, whatever, baseball, we're setting in all that soiled linens on the inside of the vehicle, can definitely get a little musty, kind of get that smell, right. more

Now obviously this isn't on our roof, it's on the bed of our truck, and how we're doing that is gonna be a little special something called this RetraxONE XR Hard Tonneau Cover with the T-slot track on the sides. So this guy is amazing, however, it's not what we're showcasing off here today. This is just simply what's allowing us to use our OffGrid, of course, giving us a nice little crossbar system to go ahead and run across and actually go ahead and clamp this on the bed of our truck. What's great about this, you're getting that tonneau cover, right, but you're also getting this maximum space here. more

Here's our Yakima Off-Grid Roof Cargo Basket on a 2018 Ford Fiesta. So the roof cargo basket adds a whole storage capacity on a vehicle that has a small trunk and already has a bike rack on it. So if you're going on a long extended mountain bike trip or camping with the family, you're able to put your coolers, bags, tents, whatever you need up there. You also had the ability to shift it over and put a separate bike rack or whatever supplies you have. So the size of the cargo basket is 44 by 40. Hey, guys. Today, we have a 2017 Ford Escape and we're gonna do a test fit of the Yakima Off Grid rooftop cargo basket. Now a cargo basket, if you're not familiar with it, it works just like a cargo box, the only difference being that it doesn't have an enclosed lid. So everything's gonna be out in the open. So that's something you do want to keep in mind that when you want to load any excess cargo, luggage, anything like that to where you want to create more space in the inside of your vehicle. Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Ford Taurus, we're going to be test fitting the Curt roof mounted cargo basket, part number C18115. This measures 41-1/2 inches long, by 37 inches wide, by four inches deep. This has a carrying capacity of 150 pounds, but you always want to double check with your vehicle's manual, as well as your roof rack system, to make sure that they can withstand those weights.It does have a slanted design to it, along with a fairing, so the cargo basket itself will be relatively quiet while you travel. This is ideal for carrying a wide variety of items, but also helps out clearing space inside the vehicle, if your trunk is full, and you need to have people in side. This can also be used with sporting goods equipment, or even camping gear.It's very easy to install, and fits a wide variety of roof rack systems, and cross bar spreads, as well. It just simply has this U-bolt that clamps underneath, and this is covered with rubber here, and that's to help protect your roof rack system, so it doesn't get scratched up. more

Today, on our 2013 Ford Edge, we're doing a test fit of the Rhino-Rack Roof Mounted Cargo Basket. That part number is RMCB. Now, this is 47" long by 35" wide, and has a 165 pound weight capacity. We already have three of our four mounts secured down, we've got the beginning portion of our back passenger side secured in place. We'll show you how to secure the rest of it. You'll notice between our crossbar and our basket we're going to have a plastic bracket, and on top we'll have a metal bracket. Rhino Rack Roof Basket Review - 2015 Ford Explorer- Video

Today on our 2015 Ford Explorer we're doing a test fit of the Rhino Rack roof mounted cargo basket. That part number is RMCB. This is 47 inches long by 35 inches wide and has a 165 pound weight capacity. You do want to check your vehicle's owner's manual, make sure your vehicle can withstand that much weight on it's roof and pick whichever one is lower. Thule Roof Basket Review - 2009 Ford Escape- Video

Today on our 2009 Ford Escape, we're going to be test fitting the Thule Canyon XT rooftop cargo basket, part number TH859XT. This cargo basket measures 49 in long by 40 in wide by 6 in tall. It has a carrying capacity of 150 lbs, although you want to double check with your vehicle's manual to make sure that your roof can withstand that kind of weight. It does come with the fairing installed on it, and this does have a nice aerodynamic shape to it as well, and both of those will cut down the wind noise and drag while you're driving. We have it in the shortened version now, but if you look on etrailer.com, there is a center piece you can put in here to actually extend it out, which is sold separately. Let's go ahead and show you how the last one goes on. First off though, I would like to point out that as it sits right now, we're not going to have any clearance issues between the hatch itself and the cargo basket. more

Curt Roof Basket Review - 2016 Ford Explorer- Video

Today on our 2016 Ford Explorer we'll be doing a test fit on the Curt Roof Mounted Cargo Basket. That's part Number C18115. It measures 41 and 1/2 inches long by 37 inches wide and 4 inches deep. A few things to know about this roof mounted cargo basket. It's got a sturdy steel construction with a tubular design. It's a lot boxier than most roof mounted baskets that are low profile, but that's okay because you're going to be able to hold more cargo around the edges. Here in the front, we've got a faring, so it's going to help cut down on that wind and noise reduction, and all that drag. more

Kuat Roof Cargo Carrier Review - 2013 Ford Escape- Video

Today on this 2013 Ford Escape we're going to be test fitting the Kuat Skinny Roof Cargo Basket and Bike Rack, part number SK01. This measures 82 inches long by 23 inches wide and has 160 pound carrying capacity, although you'd want to double check with your manufacturer just to make sure that your roof can handle that weight. We have the skewers up at the front here and that's how you're going to attach your bike to this as well as an integrated lock towards the rear here that you can use for additional security for your bike rack or your cargo. Now how this attaches to your roof rack we have a locking top portion here . Get that out of the way. Then we have this metal bracket and plastic piece here where a u bolt will come up underneath and tighten down with these thumb screws. Once those are tightened down you take the lock inaudible 00:00:55 put that in, lock it into place and it's going to be secure to your roof rack and this is going to be the same for all 4 sheet. Today on our 2002 Ford Explorer Sport Track, we're doing a test fit of the Thule Canyon cargo roof basket, part number TH859. The dimensions are 49 x 40 x 6, and it can hold up to 150 pounds. We have it already on our factory roof system, and we have 3 of the 4 legs already on to hold it down. I'll go around the other side and put on the last one. Now it comes with a U bolt with 2 washers, also 2 wing nuts, and also a cap for the cover, to cover the nut. First we put on the U bolt. All righty, get that on there. more

Thule Roof Cargo Carrier Review - 2014 Ford Fusion- Video

Today on our 2014 Ford Fusion, we're going to be doing a test fit of the Thule Canyon Rooftop Mounted Cargo Basket. Now, it's going to be part number TH859. This basket is going to be 49 inches long, 40 inches wide, have a depth of 6 inches in the middle, and with a sturdy steel construction, it's going to offer a 150-pound weight capacity. Now as you can see, we've already got the front feet in place and around our crossbar. If you choose to place it on your crossbars, you need to make sure that before you place it on here that you adjust your feet because it's going to make for a whole lot easier installation instead of trying to adjust them once you get it up on your crossbars. Once you have those adjusted and in place, you can then very easily take your U-bolt, place 2 washers on each one, then place your 2 thumb screws just barely started on. Then, we'll take, place it underneath the crossbar and set it into place, placing a washer and a thumb screw over the top of each bracket. more

SportRack Roof Cargo Carrier Review - 2015 Ford Edge- Video

Today on our 2015 Ford Edge we're going to be doing a test of the SportRack Vista Rooftop Mounted Cargo Basket. This SportRack Vista is going to measure 44" long, 39 1/8" wide, have a depth of about 6", and with its sturdy steel construction it's going to offer 110 pound weight capacity. As you can see we've already got two of our front feet in place as well as the rear passenger side and we're going to show you how that driver side rear goes on now. First thing you're going to want to do is make sure that you have your spacer in between your basket and your crossbar. Note that this basket will fit your elliptical crossbars as well as your aero type bars, square bars, and even your factory roof systems. Right now we got it on round bars so let's go ahead and place the bracket over the top of the spacer, take your U shape bolt, bring it up underneath of your crossbars, into the slots on the spacer, and through the metal bracket on top. more
